Famous picture reported found

ROME, Italy -- The picture of Mona Lisa, stolen from the Paris Louvre, has been found in Florence according to a statement tonight by the minister of the department of public instruction. The alleged thief, an Italian, is under arrest and the picture in the hands of the Florence police authorities.

The finding of La Mona Lisa was reported to the minister by telephone from Florence by the government director of fine art. The minister was in parliament and details of the finding and arrest will be kept secret until the French authorities are notified.
