BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 23, 1912 (UP) -- After denying a motion for a new trial Judge Hazel in United States district court at noon to-day fined the Standard Oil Company of New York $55,000 for violating the Elkins act in accepting rebates from the New York Central and Pennsylvania railroads on shipments of oil from Olean, N.Y. to Burlington, Vt. during 1904 and 1905.
