GLENDALE, Ariz., Aug. 18 (UPI) -- William Powell's 9-yard scoring run early in the fourth quarter Friday ended an Oakland comeback bid and boosted Arizona to a 31-27 over the Raiders.

NEW YORK, Calif., April 16 (UPI) -- The once-ubiquitous American chestnut tree, virtually wiped out by a fungus, will return to New York in an effort to re-establish the species, scientists said.

Pioneer black golfer Powell to be honored

CHASKA, Minn., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The PGA is honoring 92-year-old William Powell, whose Ohio golf course is the only one in the United States designed, built and owned by an African-American.
