TRAIN CONDUCTOR RESIGNS OVER KERRY REMARK
Leslie Farr II, the Amtrack train conductor who was suspended for his remarks about Sen. John Kerry made on a train, says he will resign rather than face a company investigation on August 25, 2004. Farr was suspended on August 5th after telling his Kansas City to St. Louis passengers over the public address system to "vote accordingly in November." The statement came after Far's train was held up about 90 minutes so the westbound train carrying Sen. John Kerry and Sen. John Edwards could pass. Farr is also the Republican candidate for the first congressional district in Missouri now held by democratic Rep. William "Lacy" Clay. (UPI Photo/Bill Greenblatt)
