NASA MANAGERS RESCHEDULE STS 115 LAUNCH

Space Shuttle Program Manager, Wayne Hale, attends a press conference at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida on September 6, 2006. Hale announced that the launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis is rescheduled for Friday, September 8, 2006 at approximately 11:30 AM. Earlier today, the NASA launch team decided to stop the countdown and postpone the launch activities due to an issue they encountered with a fuel cell on the orbiter. Hale does hold a "reasonable hope" that the NASA team will better understand the issues and launch the shuttle on its ambitious mission to the International Space Station on Friday.
