Two days of mourning for Gen. Giap begins in Vietnam

HANOI, Vietnam, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese paid their respects Saturday to the general credited with defeating both French and U.S. forces, officials say.

Vietnamese Gen. Giap dies at 102

HANOI, Vietnam, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Vietnamese Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap, known for his defeat of French troops at the battle of Dien Bien Phu in northern Vietnam, passed away Friday at the age of 102.
