New Orleans political operator dies

NEW ORLEANS, May 13 (UPI) -- Mose Jefferson, brother of former U.S. Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., has died of cancer in a federal prison hospital, a lawyer says.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Former U.S. Rep. William Jefferson of Louisiana was sentenced Friday to 13 years in federal prison for bribery and racketeering.
