Shawn Taggart, (born March 26, 1985 in Richmond, Virginia, is a power forward/center for the Memphis Tigers. He is 6-10 junior, and is one of the top scorers on the team, averaging 12 points a game in the 2008-09 season.

He is a very formidable man, and can shoot, pass, and dribble well for someone of his size. His teammate, Robert Dozier, who is 6-9, is also a big man with a big shot. Taggart can get down low pretty fast, and he is a master at defense. He was also with the team as a sophomore when The Memphis Tigers went to the NCAA National Championship in 2008. They unfortunately lost in overtime to the Kansas Jayhawks. This was also when they still had their star point guard Derrick Rose, who left after his freshman year to play for the Chicago Bulls. He is now replaced by the juggernaut Tyreke Evans.
