WASHINGTON, July 24 (UPI) -- Maryland State Police Chief Col. Thomas Sheridan has ordered staff to look at his force's intelligence-gathering policies and current operations, after revelations that undercover troopers infiltrated peaceful anti-war and anti-death-penalty protest groups.
WASHINGTON, July 17 (UPI) -- Documents released Thursday show that undercover Maryland state police officers infiltrated three local peace and anti-death-penalty groups, attending organizing meetings and sending reports on their activities to U.S. intelligence and military agencies.
