The late Apollo astronaut Roger Chaffee was honored during the weekend as an Ambassador of Exploration for his work in the U.S. space program.
Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, is expected to attend next month's dedication of a building named for him at Indiana's Purdue University.
Purdue University will soon be the home of a moon rock, thanks to the widow of U.S. astronaut and Purdue alumnus Roger Chaffee.
The historic Apollo 1 capsule has been moved to a newer, environmentally controlled warehouse at NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va.
