MIAMI, July 21 (UPI) -- Forecasters issued a hurricane watch for the coasts of northeastern Mexico and southeastern Texas Monday as Tropical Storm Dolly advanced.

MIAMI, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- A tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico surprised Miami forecasters by strengthening into Tropical Storm Erin on Wednesday.

MIAMI, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Hurricane Rita has become the third-most intense hurricane on record in the Atlantic Basin, with top sustained winds near 165 mph over the Gulf of Mexico.

MIAMI, July 13 (UPI) -- A hurricane watch was issued Sunday for the Texas coast from Port O'Connor south to Brownsville, the National Hurricane Center reported.
