Richard Herbert Carpenter (1841–1893) was an eminent Victorian architect from England.

Richard was born 1841 in St. Pancras, London, Middlesex, England and died in 1893. He was living with his mother at 23 Leinster Square of St. Pancras, London, Middlesex, England during the 1881 British Census. He was the son of the tractarian architect Richard Cromwell Carpenter and Miss Amelia Dollman.

Richard Carpenter is best known for his collaboration with Benjamin Ingelow; their architectural practice, founded by Carpenter's father and based in Marylebone, London, was responsible for the restoration and construction of many ecclesiastical properties in the 19th century.
