Rare Queen Victoria stamp to be auctioned in New York City
One of the world's rarest stamps, this mint condition 1851 Canadian 12 pence denomination postage stamp depicting a young Queen Victoria, will be auctioned in New York on November 19, 2009. The stamp is expected to sell for at least $150,000. All proceeds to be donated by Michael Gross, the vice president of Ipsos, and his wife, Sue, to the Smithsonian National Postal Museum in Washington, DC UPI/Spink Shreves Galleries.
