Occupy San Francisco protesters were in a standoff with riot police overnight after a tent was pitched at the Embarcadero waterfront, witnesses said.
Protesters in cities across the United States considered their next steps Friday, a day after hundreds of people were arrested.
Police drove sleepy Occupy San Diego protesters from their downtown camps very early Friday, arresting about 50, demonstrators said.
