White Sox trade McCarthy to Texas

CHICAGO, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Promising right-hander Brandon McCarty Saturday was part of a five-player deal between the Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers. McCarthy, 23, was one of the most sought pitchers this off-season. In 2006, he was 4-7 with a 4.68 ERA.
