Meir Sheetrit (Hebrew: מאיר שטרית‎, born 10 October 1948) is an Israeli politician who currently serves a member of the Knesset for Kadima. He previously served as the country's Minister of the Interior.

Sheetrit was born in Ksar es Souk (now Er Rachidia), in Morocco, in 1948. His family made aliyah to Israel in 1957. He gained a BA and an MA in Public Policy from Bar-Ilan University.

He began his political career in 1974 when he was elected as the mayor of the city of Yavne, a position he held until 1987.
