Joseph Addai, Jr. (born May 3, 1983, in Houston, Texas) is an American football running back for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He was selected in the first round (30th overall pick) of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Louisiana State University.
Addai's family hails from Ghana in West Africa. In high school, Addai was a left-handed option-style quarterback for the Sharpstown Apollos. In his senior year, he rushed for 1,429 yards on 159 carries and completed 37 passes for 425 yards. He was chosen as a member of the 5A All-State first team in Texas. He was named an All-American by ESPN and Fox Sports, and was rated as a top 100 recruit by Rivals.com
He is jokingly referred to by ESPN analyst Chris Berman as Joseph "Live and Let" Addai (Live and Let Die).
