Jose Medellin to be executed in Texas
This photo released by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice shows death row inmate Jose Medellin who is set for execution tonight at the Huntsville Unit Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas on August 5, 2008. Medellin, 33, was one of six teenagers arrested and charged for the 1993 rape-strangulation of two teenage Houston girls. Tonight's scheduled execution has attracted international attention despite an international court's ruling saying he should be entitled to additional legal reviews because he is a Mexican citizen.
