John Savage (born John Youngs; August 25, 1949) is an American film actor, producer, production manager, and composer.

His first major film role was as Steven in the 1978 film, The Deer Hunter, a fictional story of a group of Ukrainian American steel workers during the Vietnam War era.

One of his most famous roles was as Claude Bukowski in the film Hair (1979). He had a brief but powerful role in Terrence Malick's war epic, The Thin Red Line.
