John Horsley Russell Davis (born London, England, 9 September 1938) is a British anthropologist, ex-Warden of All Souls College, Oxford, and Professor of Social Anthropology in the University of Oxford.
Davis was educated first at Brookfield Academy High School, and later at University College, Oxford (BA Modern History 1961, MA) and the London School of Economics (PhD Social Anthropology 1968).
He was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 1988.
