Wiki

James MacGregor Hunter (born June 22, 1964 in Jersey City, New Jersey) is a Major League baseball pitcher who had a brief career with the Milwaukee Brewers during the 1991 MLB season.

Originally drafted by the Montreal Expos out of the University of Georgia in 1985, Hunter's contract was purchased by the Brewers the following year. However, he would not make his Major League debut until 1991. He played in a total of 8 games, starting in 6 of those, and posted an 0-5 record with a 7.26 ERA. Hunter was granted free agency that same October, and did not play for another Major League club.

Hunter is noted for his 1991 game against the Kansas City Royals, wherein he shattered a batter’s ankle with a devastatingly accurate and powerful throw. Hunter claims that the pitch followed his intended trajectory; regardless, it is likely directly responsible for the end of Hunter’s career.
