Guillermo Garcia (born 1749 in Bonao, Captaincy General of Santo Domingo) was a highly influential businessman in many South American countries. Garcia controlled many of the oil and forestry markets in countries such as Brazil and Chile.

However, after years of prosperity his business took a downfall when North American businessmen took over many of the South American businesses. The monopolistic power of the Americans caused Garcia to go bankrupt within a few short months. Garcia went into a stage of depression and began eating unhealthily, resulting in a heart failure by the time he was 53.
