Evgeny Korolev (Russian: Евгений Королёв) is a Russian tennis player and the cousin of retired Russian player Anna Kournikova. He began playing tennis at age four with his father and picked up his first ATP points at age 15 in three German Challengers. He can speak Russian, German, English and Spanish.

Evgeny Korolev is an offensive baseliner with knock out power off both wings. Korolev has a very solid and compact backhand that can generate clean winners from anywhere on the court and also his best shot when defending and getting himself back into rallies, however his forehand, although the more erratic and unreliable wing, can generate unbelievable power. Despite the power of the backhand, Korolev has a more pacey forehand, however, he makes a lot of errors off that wing. Korolev also gets minor criticisms for being one dimensional, however, has amazing drop shots and drive volleys off both the forehand and backhand sides. His overheads are also reliable and he possesses a bomb of a first serve. The second serve can also be a weakness, based on the fact that he tends to rush. However, overall, Evgeny looks to hit players off the court with his immense ground strokes and extremely powerful shot making.

Evgeny was raised in Moscow, and began playing tennis at age four with his father, Evgeny, who still coaches him and used to play hockey. Evgeny also never played the junior circuit and picked up his first ATP points at age 15 in three German Challengers which was a method used by fellow professionals Nicolas Almagro and David Ferrer. Mother, Irina, is a housewife and sometimes travels to tournaments as well. He also has one older brother, Alexey, who is his physio therapist and helps with his business matters and considers him his best friend and "buddy" (works in Moscow). Evgeny also had a private tutor that helped him speak Russian, German and English due to the wealth of the Korolev name however firstly started learning English. Evgeny says that his Favorite players growing up were Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and Stefan Edberg and admired Sampras the most due to his professionalism and dedication to the sport. His hobbies include hockey and enjoys playing or skating anytime he has a chance, Evgeny also enjoys working on his fitness and goes to the gym at least 10 times a week, however Evgeny does not like Night clubs and says that he would much rather work out, although this is influenced by his dislike to alcohol and also cigarettes. He also likes hard rock and favorite groups are Metallica, Three Doors Down, Oasis, Creed and Green Day. Favorite surfaces are hard and clay courts and considers backhand his favorite shot however admits to generating more power off his forehand wing. Coached by father, Evgeny.He has many nicknames with Zhenya being the most popular one, however many of his fellow players call him "The Evgenster" based on his robotic strokes and mature personality, he is also known to be referred to as the "The Russian Confined Machine" and also "The Power Merchant".
