Dan Gelber (born November 26, 1960) is currently a member of the Florida Senate, and he previously served as the Minority Leader of the Florida House of Representatives. He is a Democrat and represented the 106th District of the Florida House from 2000 - 2008. He is also a candidate for the US Senate position being vacated by Mel Martinez.

Gelber has a BA from Tufts University and a JD from University of Florida College of Law. Currently Dan lives in Miami with his wife, Joan Silverstein, and their three children: Sophie, Hannah, and Max. Gelber was on the short list of possible running mates to 2006 Florida Democratic Gubernatorial nominee Jim Davis. He is a big fan of Miami Heat basketball and the Miami Dolphins.

In January 2009, Gelber declared his candidacy for the open United States Senate seat vacated by the retiring Republican U.S. Senator Mel Martinez. Rep. Kendrick Meek has also announced that he will run, and other Democrats are reportedly looking at the race.
