Minnesota Twins pitcher Johan Santata has won the American League Cy Young award, it was announced November 11, 2004. Santana helped the Twins win their third consecutive division title by posting a 20-6 record, leading the AL with a 2.61 ERA and 265 strikeouts. Santana received all 28 first-place votes from the Baseball Writers Association of America, making him the first unanimous Cy Young winner in the AL since Bostons' Pedro Martinez in 2000.
