Chris "Beanie" Wells (born August 7, 1988 in Akron, Ohio) is an American Football running back for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He was selected in the first round (31st overall pick) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of The Ohio State University.

He was born August 7, 1988 in Akron, Ohio and is one of eleven children. His parents are James and Paulette Wells.

The nickname Beanie was given to him by his family at a young age and he is quoted as saying, "I got the nickname because when I was a baby, I came out and my big brother said I had a bean head." Also he is featured on the Athlon Sports College Football Annual Cover for the Big Ten with the words "Beanie Ball".
