Christopher David "Chris" Noth (pronounced /ˈnoʊθ/, born November 13, 1954) is an American actor and poet. He is known for two long-running television roles: as Det. Mike Logan on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and as Mr. Big on Sex and the City. For the latter role, he has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

Noth, the youngest of three sons, was born in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Jeanne Parr, a former CBS news reporter, and Charles Noth, an insurance salesman. Noth's father died when he was nine. During his childhood, Noth traveled with his mother and brothers throughout the United Kingdom, Yugoslavia, and Spain.
