Andy Parsons (born 1967) is an English comedian and writer, who regularly appears on Mock the Week. With comedy partner Henry Naylor, he has written and presented nine seasons of Parsons and Naylor’s Pull-Out Sections for BBC Radio 2.
Parsons attended Parc Eglos Primary School, Helston School and Churston Ferrers Grammar School before going to Cambridge University, where he met Naylor and formed a double-act which twice toured with the National Student Theatre Company. They subsequently helped run the Footlights comedy society. After studying law, Parsons got a job working on a case at the Glasgow shipyards, which he describes as "the most tedious thing I'd ever done." He established, with Naylor, TBA, London's first sketch comedy club.
He has written for Spitting Image and Alas Smith and Jones, and provided the voice of "Cool Cat" in the 1992 Press Gang episode "Bad News". He has also appeared as a guest on They Think It's All Over, QI, and BBC Radio 5 Live's Fighting Talk. He has appeared in all but five episodes of Mock the Week and became a regular panelist before the beginning of Series 3.
