NEW YORK, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The economic morass in the United States may cause Blu-ray technology to just about miss the boat, a technology analyst said.

WASHINGTON, May 24 (UPI) -- Blu-ray DVDs and DVD players are struggling to sell across the United States despite being tabbed as the replacement for average DVDs, analysts say.

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- HD DVDs may soon be history after Wal-Mart decided to only stock Blu-ray high-definition DVDs at the giant retail chain's U.S. stores.

On this day in 1938, jazz cornet player and bandleader Joe "King" Oliver died in poverty in Savannah, Ga. Oliver's Creole Jazz Band recorded its greatest tunes 15 years earlier in a band that included a young Louis Armstrong.
