Doomsday clock set at 5 minutes to midnight
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moved the minute hand of the Doomsday Clock two minutes closer to midnight, now set to 5 minutes to midnight, during a news conference in Washington on January 17, 2007. The group of scientists and Nobel Laureates used the occasion to warn of failures to deal with nuclear proliferation and global climate change. (UPI Photo/Roger L. Wollenberg)
