U.S. warships sent to Libyan coast
The United State Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens, 52, was killed in an attack on the a consular building in Benghazi, Libya on September 12, 2012. The ambassador and at least two other staff members were killed when the compound was overrun by Muslim extremists, who were upset at an amateur film made in the United States that apparently insulted the Prophet Mohammad.
