The New York Giants waived offensive lineman Michael Bowie on Wednesday following a charge of domestic assault and battery in Oklahoma.

Bowie, 25, turned himself in to authorities on Monday after a warrant was issued last week. He was charged with one count of domestic assault and battery and two counts of malicious injury or destruction of property.

Bowie was booked at 11:23 a.m. and released at 12:07 p.m. after posting $17,000 bond, according to Tulsa County jail records. Bowie, a native of Tulsa, has denied making any physical contact with his girlfriend.

The NFL is investigating the incident and Bowie could be subject to potential discipline by the league under the personal conduct policy.

The Giants left open the possibility of Bowie returning pending the outcome of the situation. He was working as the Giants' third-string offensive tackle this summer

"We have waived Michael Bowie," general manager Jerry Reese said in a statement. "As we have already stated, we were made aware of this situation on Saturday. The league has started to gather more information. That process will continue. The outcome of that process will determine whether there is another opportunity here for Michael."

Bowie did not travel with the team for Monday night's game against the Cleveland Browns.

According to the Tulsa World, Bowie and his girlfriend had an argument over finances and it turned physical after the woman made a remark about Bowie's mother.

Tulsa County assistant district attorney Kenneth Elmore told the newspaper that Bowie grabbed the woman by her neck and tossed her to the ground. He then broke two televisions and punched a hole in the wall.

The Giants made other roster moves Monday, three days before hosting the New York Jets in the annual MetLife Bowl on Saturday night.

The team waived offensive lineman Corin Brooks, and waived/injured wide receivers Darius Powe and Andrew Turzilli with hamstring injuries.

In addition, the Giants signed wide receivers Marquis Bundy and C.J. Germany, and linemen Richard Levy and Matt Rotheram.

The 6-4, 215-pound Bundy entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in 2016. He was on the team's practice squad and active roster for the final six weeks last season but did not play in a game. Bundy was waived by the Cardinals on Aug. 18.

The 5-11, 180-pound Germany, an undrafted rookie, was signed by the Los Angeles Rams on Aug. 4 and waived on Aug. 18.

The 6-5, 325-pound Rotheram was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Green Bay Packers on May 8, 2015. He spent the entire 2015 season on the Packers' practice squad. Rotheram was on the practice squads of the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions in 2016. The Lions signed him to a reserve/future contract on Jan. 9 and released him on Aug. 15.

The 6-6, 315-pound Levy, an undrafted rookie, was signed by the San Francisco 49ers on May 8 and released on Aug. 13.
