Gold futures rose to record high after the US government reported a 10.2% jump in the unemployment rate for October. With the rate crossing the 10% mark for the first time in 26 years, the demand for safe investment options has risen, pushing gold futures for December by $3.20, or 0.2%, to $1,092.50 an ounce. The demand for gold has also been pushed by inflation and investors wanting to hedge.
