Alcoa produces primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum, and alumina, and is engaged in mining, refining, smelting, fabricating, and recycling. Co.'s nonaluminum products include precision castings, industrial fasteners, consumer products, food service and flexible packaging products, plastic closures, and electrical distribution systems for cars and trucks. Co.'s products are used in aircraft, automobiles, commercial transportation, packaging, consumer products, building and construction, and industrial applications. As of Dec 31 2006, Co. operated through six segments: Alumina, Primary Metals, Flat-Rolled Products, Extruded and End Products, Engineered Solutions, and Packaging and Consumer.
