NEWSPAPER SHOWS RESCUE OPERATIONS

The front page of China's official English language newspapaer, the China Daily, shows rescue operations in southern China after Typhoon Saomai hit the area with record force winds earlier in the week. The death toll from Typhoon Saomai " the strongest storm to hit China in 50 years " rose to 114 Sunday, as more evacuees died when buildings used as shelters collapsed, authorities said.
