CHARLES GIBSON NAMED ANCHOR OF WABC TV WORLD NEWS TONIGHT

WABC tv Good Morning America hosts Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson (shown on 5/26/06) years of partnership will soon end.Gibson takes over as permanent anchor for "World News Tonight" on May 29,2006 and will pull double duty on the am and pm side of the clock until June 30,2006.Gibson takes over for Bob Woodruff and Elizabeth Vargas who stepped down due to injuries in Iraq and maternity leave..(UPI Photo/Ezio Petersen)
