CROSS-COUNTRY BICYCLIST HURT IN CRASH

Maegerie, who is in the United States for the 3,000-mile Race Across America was hit by a motorist near Alton, IL on June 18. Maegerle suffered broken ribs, broken bones in his back and damage to his lungs and liver and will be tranfered to his home in Wintertgur, Switzerland by a special medical transport, later this week.
