Manmade flood released into Colorado River at the Grand Canyon
Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne watch 41,500 cubic feet of water per second pour from the Glen Canyon Dam into the Colorado River at the Grand Canyon in Page, Arizona on March 5, 2008. The Department of the Interior is releasing the water to mimic a natural flood in an effort to replenish and nourish depleted beaches and ecosystems of the Colorado River.
