Rush Limbaugh married 4 times, says gay marriage 'inevitable'

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who has been married four times, admitted that opponents of same sex marriage "lost the language" in the debate, but he pushed on with his particular stance on the issue on his radio show Thursday.

He said that gay people marrying will lead to pedophilia, and that same-sex unions should not fall under marriage as they will force us to accept sexual abuse of children.

He said that defenders of "traditional marriage" have lost the battle regardless of what happens in the Supreme Court later this year.

"I don't care what the supreme court does, this is now inevitable," Limbaugh said. "It's inevitable because we lost the language on this."

Limbaugh said that the tip in public opinion on gay marriage came after people began to use the word "marriage" to describe same-sex couples.

He said modifiers like "hetero" and "opposite-sex" are phrases used to describe straight marriages, and that distinguishing the two that way shows how much the conversation has changed.

"I maintain to you that we lost the issue when we started allowing the word 'marriage' to be bastardized and redefined by simply adding words to it," Limbaugh said.

"Marriage is one thing, and it was not established on the basis of discrimination [or] denying people anything."

His statements come after two Supreme Court cases on gay marriage.

In his Wednesday show, he said that gay marriage would become legal across the country. This comes after controversial statements he made earlier this year linking gay marriage to pedophilia. Thursday's show covered how Limbaugh does not think that discrimination is an issue within talks about gay marriage.

"No one is against giving homosexuals the rights of contract or inheritance or hospital visits. There's nobody that wants to deny them that," Limbaugh said. "The issue has always been denying them a status that they can't have, by definition."

Earlier this year, Limbaugh was rumored to be resigning from Cumulus after low ad sales following several hard-right rants. No word on whether waving the white flag will give him an advantage moving forward.
