LONDON, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- One Direction stars Liam Payne and Harry Styles have denied rumors that the band is breaking up.

Rumors of the band's demise have been flying since last week's BRIT Awards when Payne admitted that he and the other band members hadn't seen each other in months. Bandmate Harry Styles, however, effectively denied breakup rumors with a firm, "We're not breaking up," in a recent joint interview with Payne in The Sun.

On the contrary, Styles says a new album is in the works, and that the bandmates were merely on vacation in order to relax and spend some much-needed time with family.

"We have been away writing for the next album and rehearsals are just about to start soon for the tour," Payne said.

"We're not splitting up. We're on WhatsApp messaging each other all the time... I miss the boys, but if you don't see your family you would go mad."

Payne joked that the band has no desire to be on The Big Reunion, a British show that documents reunions between bands that have split, anytime soon. "We don't want to be on The Big Reunion next year. We don't want to be on The Big Reunion ever. Well, maybe in 2050."
