LOS ANGELES, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Pharrell, Karen O, U2 and Idina Menzel have already been confirmed to perform at next month's Academy Awards. But you can count on "the Divine Miss M," who has decades of diva experience and two Oscars of her own, to really show us how it's done.

Bette Midler will make an "especially moving" contribution to the Academy Awards next month (an "In Memorium" segment, perhaps?), organizers said today.

“We are thrilled to have Bette perform on the Oscars for the very first time,” producers said Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement. “We believe she will make our Oscar telecast an especially moving evening.”

Midler solicited song suggestions shortly after the announcement.

"Now that the news is out, what shall I sing at this years #Oscars?" she tweeted.

Midler received Oscar nods for Best Actress in 1991's For the Boys and 1979's The Rose. Though the 68-year-old singer has 13 studio albums under her belt, this will mark her first-ever Oscars performance.
