HOUSTON, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- While former Texan Ed Reed was parked at a Bank of America in Houston, someone smashed the window of his gray 2006 Audi and made off with a bag that was on the front seat.

Unfortunately for Reed, that bag contained $50,000 in $100 bills.

Houston police believe that Reed was followed from a bank he had stopped in down the street to the Bank of America.

Reed spent the bulk of his career with the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the Texans prior to the 2013 season. Reed was cut in November and quickly signed by the New York Jets.

It is unclear what the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year was doing in Houston or why he needed such a large amount of cash.

Reed, 35, is a pending unrestricted free agent and it’s possible that he will retire. However, given the amount of cash he just lost, he may want to come back for at least one more season.

Not everyone feels bad for him.
