FALL RIVER, Mass., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Recent court filings in the Aaron Hernandez case indicate that the prosecution won’t be calling on one of his former teammates from the New England Patriots or the University of Florida to serve as a key witness – they might be asking his barber to testify.
Aaron Hernandez’s barber, Robby Olivares, made a house call to the football player’s home in Massachusetts two days before Hernandez was arrested and authorities seem to believe he could have pertinent information in the Odin Lloyd murder case.
In addition to cutting his hair, FOX 25 reports Olivares and Hernandez were friends and that the barber posted an Instagram photo with the former tight end that has since been deleted. A with the picture read: "He show me love like he's fam so I show him da same!"
If Olivares was at a Boston nightclub with Hernandez (after cutting his hair) two nights before Lloyd was murdered, he could have key information that other people have been unwilling to divulge. About 48 hours after the night out at Rumors, Lloyd was shot to death.
"An important part of this case has to do with events that occurred at the Rumors night club," said Hernandez’s lawyer Jamie Sultan
Olivares already "guided' the grand jury that investigated the Lloyd murder to a secret apartment that Hernandez kept in Franklin, Mass., according to court documents.
"If he were to testify about what was said that ultimately led to Mr. Hernandez having a motive to participate at a minimum in this murder, that's crucial evidence," said Boston criminal defense attorney David Yannetti.
