SANFORD, Fla., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Police say they believe they have found the body of a missing 2-year-old girl from Sanford, Fla., after her mother admitted to burying her in a shallow grave.

Rachel Fryer, 32, was arrested after Tariji Gordon, 2, could not be located Monday morning. Fryer and her four children had already been under the supervision of a caseworker, and an investigation was initiated after the caseworker alerted the Florida Department of Children and Families that the child could not be located.

According to the arrest warrant, Fryer told police the child died Thursday morning, claiming she had found the child unresponsive and had tried to revive her using CPR and trying to give the child her asthma medication.

Fryer said that he eventually gave up trying to revive the child and wrapped her in a blanket, placing her in a suitcase and driving her to a friend's home. Fryer said she then buried the child in a shallow grave.

Sanford police, with the aid of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Putnam County Sheriff's Office located the body of a child matching the description and clothing of Tariji, and found the suitcase nearby.

Fryer has been charged with aggravated child neglect and is being held on $950,000 bond.
