Roy Oswalt retires from baseball at age 36

Oswalt walks away from the game with a 163-102 record in 13 seasons.

HOUSTON, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Major League Baseball pitcher Roy Oswalt has decided to retire from baseball at age 36 after 13 years in “The Show.”

Oswalt, who pitched for the Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, Colorado Rockies and Texas Rangers, walks away from baseball with a 163-102 lifetime record to go along with a 3.36 ERA and 1.21 WHIP.

The three-time All-Star appeared in 365 career games and was 143-82 in 10 seasons with the Astros. He led the majors with 150 wins from 2001 to 2010 and earned NLCS MVP honors in 2005.

Last season for the Rockies, Oswalt was 0-6 with an 8.63 ERA.

He will still work in sports and is set to join his former agent Bob Garber at RMG Baseball as their vice president of baseball operations.
