Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Actress Lauren Cohan said the second half of Season 4 of "The Walking Dead" is "filthy" and "the goriest yet."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly ahead of the Sunday night return of the horror series on AMC, Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene, said the rest of the season is an emotional one for her character.

"All that Maggie knows right now is that she has lost her father, maybe her sister, maybe her husband. We are going to see her battling and be the most alone we’ve ever seen her. Not necessarily completely alone, but at times we’ll see her the most alone she’s been. How she’s going to survive by herself? It’s going to be very scary," she said.

To top it off, she says things are going to get even grosser than normal for the zombie series.

"But it’s going to be filthy. This is definitely going to be the goriest yet," she said.

Ultimately, "It’s some of the best storytelling and writing that we’ve had on the show yet," Cohan added.
