LaBoeuf, who wore torn clothing and a dirty baseball cap, sat down with his Nymphomaniac co-stars for a discussion about Lars Von Trier's latest film at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin on Sunday.
He answered just one question about the film's sex scenes by quoting French soccer player Eric Cantona, then promptly left the stage.
"When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Thank you very much," he said.
LaBoeuf's unusual approach to film promotion didn't stop there. He showed up to the red-carpet premiere hours later wearing a paper bag over his head that read, "I am not famous any more," which gossipmongers will recognize as the message he has tweeted almost every day since he "retired" last month.
