LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Best friends Michelle Rodriguez and Cara Delevingne have reportedly agreed to star in a remake the classic roadie movie, Thelma & Louise.

The 35-year-old Fast and Furious actress has allegedly been in talks about remaking the film since last year. Insiders claim she chose the British supermodel to be her partner in crime given that the two have been inseparable for a while.

"Michelle is heavily in demand to take the lead after her success in The Fast And The Furious," a source told British newspaper The Sun via the Daily Mail. "A few names have been mentioned as her co-star, including Kristen Stewart, Annalynne McCord and Leighton Meester -- but Michelle is pushing for Cara."

The original Thelma & Louise film came out in 1991, and starred Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis.

Rodriguez and Delevingne have been getting really close over the past couple of months. In early January the two were spotted kissing as they watched a basketball game in New York City.

"[Rodriguez] thinks [Delevingne] would light up the big screen and that the pair of them would be a huge hit together," the source said.
