HATTIESBURG , Miss., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Through Joe Namath's coat was the real MVP of Sunday night's Super Bowl, Brett Favre's gray beard was probably next best furry appearance.

The Ole Gunslinger, who recently coached a Mississippi high school football team to the state title, appeared on the NFL Network to discuss the Seattle Seahawks game against the Denver Broncos.

When asked about the new look, the 44-year-old retired quarterback said he "just got lazy."

"I started it at the end of our high school football season. It's that transition from hot to colder hunting season and blah blah blah ... I just got lazy," he said.
