COTO DE CAZA, Calif., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Police in California said a 22-year-old Cal State Fullerton student died when his sport utility vehicle became airborne and crashed into a house in the Coco de Caza exclusive community.

Franz Nalezny, of Trabuco Canyon, died instantly in the crash, Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority said.

Police said Nalezny was driving southbound at a high rate of speed on Vista del Verde Friday when his vehicle jumped the curb, bounced off a wall and hit a house.

"At some point the car became airborne and it traveled some 40 to 50 feet in the air, landing on top of a wall next to the house," Concialdi said.

A woman and two young children inside the home at the time of the accident weren't hurt.
